International whisky brand, Chivas Regal, are searching for the next generation of extraordinary startups that do well by doing good.
Chivas’ The Venture aims to support promising startups who have the potential to succeed and make a positive impact on the lives of others.
In 2014, Chivas Regal launched The Venture, a $1Million annual fund and global search to reward those who are using business to create positive change. Nominations for this years applications to The Venture close in the UK on the 30th November.
The most promising startups – one from each country participating in The Venture – will make it to the global final and have a chance to win a share of $1 million in funding.
Chivas explains the motivation behind the challenge: “We’re looking for exceptional startups that use business innovatively to transform communities and solve global challenges. Social businesses that are creating a better future. Whatever it is, if it’s brilliant and can create real, positive change then we want to hear from you”.
Winning entries will not need to be technology focused, but should tackle a social or environmental issue with an innovative, market based solution.
Last year more than 2,500 entrepreneurs from around the world applied, but only 27 startups with a mission to create positive change were selected.
Chosen applicants have the chance to pitch to a panel of business experts who will offer advice and decide which applicants have the most promise to continue to the global finals. At the exclusive global event in front of a live audience of business experts, influencers and changemakers, successful applicants will have the opportunity to pitch to The Venture’s global panel of judges, who will decide how the $1Million fund will be awarded.
