Over 250,000 tonnes of sand and a mammoth paddling pool is waiting for you in London right now.
It may be brief, but summer in London is HOT. The word ‘stifling’ often comes to mind, and it can seem especially overwhelming when you’ve got stir-crazy kids cooped up inside pining for sea and sand, but the nearest beach is a lengthy (and sweaty) car or train journey away. Get me out of here!
But did you know that the Costa Del North London is right here on your doorstep? No? You’ve been missing out, because the Beach at Brent Cross, London’s largest urban beach, has set up shop for the long summer holiday since 2015. It turns out you don’t need to live by the coast to enjoy the seaside summer vibes after all!
Situated next to the Brent Cross Shopping Centre, this family-friendly festival is a true celebration of British summer. You’ll find a ginormous splash pool, fish and chips, deck chairs and candy floss aplenty. Not to mention the fairground attractions – choose from carousels, log flumes and more, with rides suitable for all the family, meaning hours of fun for everyone. Still not convinced? Parents can even enjoy happy hour with some Pimms at the Tiki bar.
So if you don’t manage to get out of London this summer, you can enjoy the urban beach until the 10th September for just £3 a ticket. Our advice? Get out and soak up some Vitamin D while you can.
